Your hosts, Graham and Collette, moved to Poplar Farm House from Norwich in 2021. They had always dreamed of escaping to the country once their children had grown up, so when they found a six-acre farm with a working English vineyard they knew they had to jump at the opportunity. They both love travelling and have enjoyed many a break here in the UK and many abroad.

For the past 31 years, Graham has worked as a teacher of Biology at a high achieving academic school in Norwich and has a keen and active interest in conservation, ecological practices and processes. Collette is a professional interior designer and runs her own very busy and successful business in Norwich, with a national reach. Both have enjoyed be able to bring even more vibrant biodiversity into the farm as possible. Since arriving, they have brought 100,000 honeybees to the farm, added a wonderful wildlife pond and a spacious kitchen garden, producing a variety of fruit, honey, flowers, and vegetables. They’ve also planted a whole host of native tree saplings across the farm which are now happily prospering in the nursery beds and across the meadows and orchard.

Guests will be treated to an amazing show of British wildlife here at the farm, with all species of British deer species, a family of happy hares, some secretive badgers, an owl called Gerald and 25 plus species of birds. And at the wildlife pond guests can also spot newts, frogs and dragonflies. When our guests are here they will be able to enjoy all aspects the space and when possible Graham will set on a tour of the vineyard and bees.

Even though they live on the farm, they understand that all guests’ aim is to enjoy being given the time and space to enjoy their break away without the intrusion of others. Given that the Cottage and Cabin are very separate from one another and have their own private non-overlooked garden areas to enjoy then be rest assured of enjoying seclusion and un-interrupted peace & quiet whilst being here on the farm.
